Rouge Lips

Heyyyy :) So I got this YSL lipstick recently as a gift and I absolutely love it. The colour, the packaging and the texture. Its super soft, pigmented and long lasting. Although the colour looks red on the packaging and the lipstick looks more plum the actual colour on is more of a pinky red, a gorgeous colour...Am going on a bit too much lol but I'll feature it in a look of the day :)
Rouge Volupte Lipstick in Shade Red Taboo (18) by YSL -  £23.50

Lip and Cheek Stain in Shade Rose Pink (01) by BodyShop - £10.00
I finally found the perfect lip tint, yayyy!! I don't know why I did not go to Body Shop before but now that I have this I have been using it almost everyday and it actually works. I like wearing it under my lipstick which makes it last longer, but even by itself it's great. If worn lightly then its a pinky colour but I like to wear lots as I love bold lips. Not forgetting that it can be worn on the cheeks too, which gives them a lovely pink blush look.

Brush Bath

Hello, hope all is well, I know I have not done a look of the day in a while but I've not been very well :( On the path of recovery now so lots of looks to come. I was washing my brushes today and thought why not show you my brush collection and yess they're from Body Shop lol.. What can I say, I love their products! In my brush collection I have a foundation brush, face and body brush, blusher brush, eye shadow brush, blending brush, lip and concealer brush, brow and lash comb, slanted brush, a smudger brush and a few other smaller eye shadow brushes. I love them as they're really soft to use and animal cruelty free.
Tea Tree Facial Wash by Body Shop - £4.50
Its very important to wash your brushes regularly as this prevents bacteria building up which could cause spots on the skin. To wash mine I use this Body Shop Tea Tree facial wash, I know its for the face but it really cleanses the brushes and leaves them super clean and smelling nice, plus you can use this on the face too :)

Turning 22

Heyy, I turned 22 on Monday and as I had to attend a close family wedding on the day which was still good as I got to see my entire family I celebrated my birthday properly yesterday and went out for dinner with some friends. We went to eat at More, the kind of newish restaurant on London Road, love the food and atmosphere there. Had a superrr duperr time and a big thank you to everyone that made my day so special :) I was going to wear my glitter shoes but they did not look so good with my outfit... Also the cake was sooo me and yummy! Zebra print =D
For my eye make up I wore a neutral coloured eye shadow with eye liner on my lid. I also highlighted my brow bone with a creamy eye shadow and filled in my brows. I then added false lashes to make my eyes stand out and finished the look with gold glitter on my eye lid and below my bottom lash line.

My Foundation Routine

Hello :) How gloomy has the weather been recently, think I got too excited with those few days of sun. Anywayyy as requested this blog is about my foundation routine, this is how I prepare my base for my make up although some days I take a few steps out depending on how much time I have and where am going..
Step 1: After washing my face I apply a nice even coat of Nivea cream on my face, I find this cream a good base as its not too greasy nor does it dry my face out as I have quite a greasy face.
Skin Primer by Bodyshop - £11.00
Step 2: Next I put on my Bodyshop face primer all over my face, this just gives the face a nice creamy finish and also means my make up is not directly on my face. I have been using this for a couple of years now and this little tube lasts ages as you only need a bit, definitely something I would recommend to use as my skins alot better now :)
PhotoReady Concealer by Revlon in Shade Medium - £6.49
Step 3: One of my fave new products, I have only been using this concealer for two or so weeks now and I lovee it. It gives a lot of coverage. I apply this concealer in shade medium under my eyes to cover my eye bags and on my eye lid to give my eye make up a nice even base. The applicator in really great as its like a lipstick, this makes it super easy to apply.
Studio Fix Fluid by Mac in Shade NC40 - £19.50
Foundation Brush by Bodyshop - £12.00
Step 4: The main part of my routine, applying my foundation, I put this Mac studio fix foundation in shade NC40 straight onto my concealer and the rest of my face evenly using my Bodyshop foundation brush. If I have any marks or spots then I apply a bit more on that area. With foundation its quite hard to find the right colour I find as my skin is not one colour so I opt for a slightly darker shade as this covers my blemishes better. Also I never used to use a brush before as I found it time consuming but recently I have started using a brush and I find my foundation comes on more even and much nicer.
All in one face base by Bodyshop - £14.00
Face and Body Brush by Bodyshop - £16.00
Step 5: After my foundation has set a bit I use this all in one base in shade N04 by Bodyshop as my powder. I know its not powder but because it has colour in it, it gives my face more coverage and makes my foundation blend better. I apply this all over my face even under my eyes using my face and body brush also by Bodyshop. If am going out somewhere nice then I take it with me and do touch ups as I get creases in my foundation, from laughing too much I think lol!!
Slanted Brush (part of a mini brush kit) by Bodyshop - £14.50
Step 6: The last step of my routine, styling my eyebrows. I use my Revlon brow gel to shape and neaten my eyebrows before filling in the missing bits using black eye liner gel and a small Elizabeth Arden brush. Although this has changed as now am very into using eye shadow to fill in my brows using my Bodyshop slanted brush and a brown eye shadow. This looks much more natural. My eyebrows are quite dark and thick as it is but the ends are missing so I need to fill them in.
That's all for now, enjoy =D

D.I.Y - Glitter Shoes

Sooo.... After watching lots of diy videos on youtube me and my friend decided to try one out and as the title states we glittered our shoes :) I took my old work shoes and jazzed them up with some glitter, as you all know I love glitter.
Multicoloured Glitter

This was alot easier than you think and if you want to try it out for yourself than you can check out some videos on youtube as they are really helpful but all you will need is a pair of shoes, bowl, foil, pva glue, sponge brushes, glitter and spray to seal it all.
First and foremost place lots of newspaper down in the area you're going to do it as you will get glitter everywhere unless your much neater than I was, lol. As my shoes were suede, to smooth the surface of my shoes I sanded them down using regular sandpaper and then mixed my chosen glitter with pva glue into a plastic plate covered in foil. The trick to getting the consistency right is by pouring the glue into the glitter and mixing as you go along, it should form a nice even paste. Once you have done this you're ready to glitter your shoes, I put the paste all over my shoes neatly using a sponge brush and then sprinkled more loose glitter all over my shoes to make sure they were fully coated in glitter. I did one at a time as this was just easier for me.
When the shoes are done place them in a clear space and leave them to dry for at least 24 hours before you spray them, but before you do just clean the inside up if they get glitter in them like mine did. I think I used too much glitter, but the more the better. Finally spray them all over with a glue spray to seal the glitter and leave them to dry again fully. Now for the fun part to wear them :) But you're going to have to wait to see what I pair my glitter shoes with...

Now that I've done these shoes there's so many more things I want to try to make, diy is so much fun and you always end up with exactly what you want :)
